"Unidentified assailants": another name for undercover cops

In the early morning today, thugs attacked protestors occupying near the defense ministry in Cairo calling for an end to military rule. Twenty people are reported dead so far & over 50 are injured. Military officials claim the assailants are unidentified & they deployed troops to prevent violence by forming a cordon between the protestors & attackers. The junta is hoping the rest of us are as credulous as the media feigns. Seeing as the military deployed undercover thugs to attack protestors demanding the removal of Mubarak last year, & they have often & openly attacked protestors, particularly targeting women, we can be assured many of these unidentified thugs are operating as agents of the state. Here is a scene we see repeated around the world (which never fails to inspire) of democracy protestors imperiling their own safety to help an injured brother. (Photo by Khaled Desouki/AFP)
