It's Been 62 years: Middle East Mourning Israel Occupation

Marches continue across the Middle East to mark the Israeli seizure of the Palestinian lands as well as its expulsion and killing of thousands of Palestinians.

The thousands-strong rallies entered their second day on Saturday. Marchers gathered in the Gaza Strip, the occupied West Bank and Lebanon, marking the 62nd anniversary of the May 15, 1948 Nakba Day or 'the day of the catastrophe,' the Palestinian Ma'an news agency reported.

Thousands Rally on Nakba Day
Thousands have gathered in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon to remember the 62nd anniversary of the Israeli occupation of their homelands.

Some 6,000 gathered in the Jabaliya and Nuseirat refugee camps in the northern and central parts of the strip on Friday on the occasion of the May 15, 1948 Nakba Day or 'the day of the catastrophe,' AFP reported. Some of the demonstrators carried the keys to the confiscated homes.

Around one million Palestinians were displaced and forced to live in camps in the aftermath of the Israeli war.
