Make them go away, God!

Watching even 10 minutes of the presidential debate proved to be the intellectual equivalent of water boarding. You can’t tell which one is Mortimer Snerd, the ventriloquist dummy. Usually my reaction to this kind of politics is a yawn; tonight it was a whimper. I haven’t said the rosary since I was a kid but I’m working those beads like there was no tomorrow: “Please, God, make this election go away!” If this is the epitome of modern civilization & politics, “Beam me up Scotty!” (Photo by Rick Wilking/Reuters Pool)
