Anger is a legitimate emotion in the face of injustice. Passive acceptance of evil is not a virtue.

Homeless in Kathmandu, Nepal
Homeless in Kathmandu, Nepal: many laud Nepalese Maoists for overthrowing feudalism & the medieval monarchy in 2006. Bravo, but those who laud this haven’t explained why the revolutionists so quickly replaced feudalism with neoliberalism as their new master. There have been dozens of protests against IMF-imposed fuel increases, mass evictions from slum dwellings to provide for gentrification, & here homeless children sleep by the side of the road after begging. All that socialism but no equality!? No housing!? No affordable fuel!? You can say “it takes time to solve these problems” but that would be playing the Bush-Obama dichotomy. Housing is a human right & thus a political priority--unless it isn’t, unless dancing with the IMF is your first priority. (Photo by Navesh Chitrakar/Reuters)
