Assassination fears for Assange
The website of WikiLeaks, the organisation that just released a trove of sensitive US State Department documents, has been cut off by its main web host in the USA and Europe.
The main website and a sub-site devoted to the diplomatic documents were unavailable from the US and Europe on Wednesday, as Amazon servers refused to acknowledge requests for data.
The activist website was defiant about the American company's moves, writing in a Twitter post: "WikiLeaks servers at Amazon ousted. Free speech the land of the free--fine our $ are now spent to employ people in Europe."
