"A form of moderation has been a central part of Islam from the very beginning. True, Muslims are nowhere commanded to love their neighbors, as in the Old Testament, still less their enemies, as in the New Testament. But they are commanded to accept diversity, and this commandment was usually obeyed. The Prophet Muhammad's statement that "difference within my community is part of God's mercy" expressed one of Islam's central ideas, and it is enshrined both in law and usage from the earliest times."
Bernard Lewis
That Lewis, an "expert" on Islam, had never heard of or came across the concept of "husn ul jeerah" (Good neighbourhood, being a good neighbour not only to your next door, but up to forty houses in all directions, even if they were of a different faith!) is baffling! And to credit the Old Testament a superiority in that regard is laughable to say the least!! The Old Testament for gossake!!
Look I'm ready to accept and WELCOME criticism of Islam through and through on many accounts but to spread falsehood and made up stuff is not only unfair, it's despicable!
