Linking IHH to Al Qaeda was a nice try but it failed

‘Terror’ smear against IHH springs from a familiar source

by Marsha B. Cohen on June 4, 2010 ·
The IDF (Israeli Defense Forces) has backed down from the claim that forty activists in the Gaza flotilla, who had resisted the ship's interception by Israeli commandos in international waters on Monday, are "al Qaeda merceneries."

What about the Turkish charity’s alleged links to terrorists?

by Koray Caliskan on June 4, 2010
This time by consulting no source at all, Mr. Brugiere points a finger at another alleged source of terror, IHH. According to the former judge, now a professional politician who has ran for office with Sarkozy’s conservative coalition, the Islamic charity is linked to networks of terror. He is wrong, again. This time for three solid reasons:

  1. This whole business has the potential of bringing on a moment like the fall of the Berlin Wall(or Tienemen Square). The crime of piracy on the high seas-against a humitarian mission-ia ao outrageous, that it is really impossible for any decent individual to respect the blockade of Gaza-or the oppression of the Palestinians. If a new effort can be mounted in a timely manner to break the blockade, it is doubtful that Israel will have the political force to stop it. I can imagine hundreds of vessels of all sizes sailing to Gaza to defy the blockade-with nine of them named for the fallen humanetarians. With Israel so impotent, the Zionist regime could collapse like the East German one. Of course, it is a slim chance. But I haven't seen an opportunity like this really since the first Intifada. I just hope any gains won by these efforts aren't squandered at the negotiating table-like what happenned after the First Itifada.

I just read this comment on Mondo:

    Expect more ships!
(This was a sign at the Philly protest on Tuesday and I think it sums up the steadfastness and morality of this movement to end the siege!)

I believe people are more determined than ever. Anger is palpable. As much at the attack itself as it is at the blatant dishonesty, fabrications, cover ups and lies that followed. The accusation that the IHH has links to Al Quaida or other terrorist organisation, for example, is backfiring as Isreael itself now is saying they have no proof. It's a certain right wing pro-Israel zionist judge, Jean Louis Bruguiere, ( familiar to me as his hour of glory was reached when he captured the famous Carlos) who hinted to the link without providing any source or proof.
As for this moment to be crucial as you highlighted by your Berlin wall mreference, there's a feeling of similarity but there's a difference, that being the unconditional support Israel is receiving from the US admin. if less from the people. Sadly the propaganda machine and its tools in the MSM, though showing signs of wear and tear, is still poweful and effective enough in order to sway the opinion once more in favor of the "always the victim" self-assigned status by Israel. But there's hope that someyhing good is coming out of this tragedy.
