The World's Least Powerful Man

THE OBAMA PUPPET
By PAUL CRAIG ROBERTS
"It didn’t take the Israel Lobby very long to bring President Obama to heel regarding his prohibition against further illegal Israeli settlements on occupied Palestinian land. Obama discovered that a mere American president is powerless when confronted by the Israel Lobby and that the United States simply is not allowed a Middle East policy separate from Israel’s."

1. The Republicans are grooming Palin. Our first female president, following our first black president, will complete the transition to an American police state by arresting critics and protesters of Washington’s immoral foreign and domestic policies, and she will complete the destruction of America’s reputation abroad.

Now I am certain Paul Craig Roberts has turned into a Kook.

2. That was an excellent article TGIA, He always does a good job. The only sad note about it (beyond what he said) was the fact that you get this impression that he thinks something else is possible in this system. It has never been different, it has only gotten worse with time.

7. Obama speaks out on the settlements: "Hey I got nothing to say, I got the chance of a par here...ask my cheif of staff, he's a rabid Zionist and his dad helped bomb Israel into existance. He'll know what's going on."

8. Palin has an excellent chance of being elected, for several reasons.

First off, the Democrats are in deep trouble. A recent poll found that just over half of registered Democrats have indicated they will NOT VOTE in the next presidential election. They plan to sit it out. Democrats aren't talking about this much but it's deadly. The Republicans don't have to put up much of a candidate to win if those figures hold.

Second, Palin is an outstanding candidate. I disagree with many if not all of her policies but contrary to what the MSM (and the rampantly sexist Democratic Party machine) has spoon-fed people, she is far from stupid and her positions are not that out of the mainstream for the GOP--she is no "crazier" or "whackier" than any man in the currently crazy Republican Party, and she's actually much sharper and far more pragmatic than many of them.

I know, that conflicts with what a lot of people believe about her, but remember that you're getting that image of her from the same people who told you Obama was a genius and a visionary peacemaker and Hillary was an evil racist lesbian. Consider your sources.

Finally, and most important, there is a huge and growing populist anger rising in the U.S. now. Unfortunately no left-wing organization has risen to take advantage of it, and the Democrats wrote off the poor and working class in the last election, they won't and don't want to tap into this. The Republicans, of course, will seize this golden opportunity to turn it into a growing, right-wing populist movement. They are already doing it.

So, yeah. Say hello to President Palin. Sure, she's lousy on Israel but then, few Republican or Democrat is any better.

9. Just wanted to add how interesting I find it when left and right thinking converges on issues like opposing imperial wars, job and trade protectionism at home, and getting out from under Israel's bootheel. WHen I look at Republicans like Roberts, Ron Paul, and the gang at antiwar, I find much more common ground with than I do among "mainstream" liberals.

"It is estimated that the majority of Americans - nearly 100 million people - will not vote...simply for lack of real chioce on the ballot."

The movie ran through me
The glamour subdued me
The tabloid untied me
I'm empty please fill me
Mister anchor assure me
That Baghdad is burning
Your voice it is so soothing
That cunning mantra of killing
I need you my witness
To dress this up so bloodless
To numb me and purge me now
Of thoughts of blaming you
Yes the car is our wheelchair
My witness your coughing
Oily silence mocks the legless boys
Who travel now in coffins
On the corner
The jury's sleepless
We found your weakness
And it's right outside your door

Now testify
Now testify
It's right outside your door
Now testify
Yes testify
Its right outside your door

Mass graves for the pump and the price is set
And the price is set
Mass graves for the pump and the price is set
And the price is set
Mass graves for the pump and the price is set
And the price is set

11. With precision you feed me
My witness I'm hungry
Your temple it calms me
So I can carry on
My slaving sweating the skin right off my bones
On a bed of fire I'm choking on the smoke that fills my home
The wrecking ball is rushing
Witness your blushing
The pipeline is gushing
While here we lie in tombs
While on the corner
The jury's sleepless
We found your weakness
And it's right outside your door

Obama's performance has reinforced the cynicism and disillusion felt by many voters, and their uneasy feeling that most politicians are either corrupt, incompetent, deceitful or hypocrites, or all of the obove. In such an environment, it appears to many that voting has become a waste of time.
