Yeah, Iran's nuclear "ambitions" are a huge concern. The existing Israeli warheads aren't. We got it. We no shtoopid!

TGIA, obviously China, Russia and India disagree with you. Notice that they didn't vote this way because of Israel or America. They are too important and powerful to be easily influenced by America. They voted this way because of their own threat perceptions. All three now regard letting Pakistan getting nukes in the 1980s to be a mistake and want to prevent Iran from getting them too.
ReplyDeleteIsraeli nukes don't threaten them. After all, all three of them are close Israeli allies. Israel collaborates on advanced weapons developement with them.
Interesting that Malaysia voted with Iran. Hmmm. What did Iran give Malaysia? The Malaysians are too smart to have settled for nothing.
The IAEA has repeatedly certified that none of Iran’s uranium is being enriched above the low levels needed for energy production and none of it is being diverted to non-civilian purposes. In spite of this, Western nations have vowed to continue to press for more sanctions against Iran if it does not abandon its program.
ReplyDeleteThis conveniently ignores what the IAEA said just the other day..... that Iran was not cooperating. It is interesting that for the first time China and Russia voted with the other nations.
Addressing IAEA governors in Vienna, Mr El Baradei said his inspectors had made no progress on areas which needed to be clarified in order to verify the peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear programme.
