June 3 2013, the Israeli government announced Monday it decision to
illegally confiscate 370 Dunams (91.42 Acres) of Palestinian lands, east
of the northern West Bank city of Nablus.
Ghassan
Doughlas, in charge of Israeli Settlements file at the Palestinian
Authority in the northern part of the occupied West Bank, has reported
that Israeli soldiers handed an official order to the Awarta village
council.
Palestinian villagers of Awarta and Rojeeb village, east of Nablus, own
the lands that are located close to the Itamar illegal settlement.
He
added that Israel has been rapidly escalating expansion activities of
the settlement on the expense of Palestinian lands and orchards.
The
official further stated that the newly issued military orders also
indicates that the decision was made for “military considerations”.
