This is a photo of Arafat Jaradat, a 30-year-old Palestinian man arrested in the West Bank for opposing Zionist colonizing by throwing stones against tanks, bulldozers, & bullets. He was tortured to death in an Israeli prison. He was the father of two small children; his wife is pregnant. Tortured to death for throwing stones! Another young man’s life taken for opposing colonialism. There are 4,600 Palestinians, including children, being held in Israeli prisons--most of them for throwing stones & all of them for opposing colonialism. Many are held without trial or charges or access to lawyers in what is called “administrative detention” but is more honestly called an attempt to crush Palestinian resistance to expropriation.
Thousands of mourners attended the funeral of Jaradat. Israeli officials are concerned this crime will lead to another intifada. But has intifada ever ceased since 1948? May our brother RIP. We can pay tribute to his life & support Palestinian justice by boycotting all Israeli products (barcode beginning 729) & demanding “No US aid to Israel!”
