Anger is a legitimate emotion in the face of injustice. Passive acceptance of evil is not a virtue.

No to the exploitation of animals in circuses!
Those who love elephants & know how emotionally complex they are can only grieve--& scream bloody murder--at their treatment in circuses. They’re treated like inanimate objects without sentiment--when in terms of emotional depth they could run their caretakers around the block. Here animal exploiters extraordinaire from the Ringling Bros. & Barnum & Bailey Circus unload an elephant for a parade before he performs in Tampa, Florida. Elephant expressions of love & joy are as effusive as those of humans & their misery & suffering as poignant. The suffering on this elephant's face is overwhelming. We don’t wish they would rebel by stomping on their pinhead caretakers but maybe they could rough them up a bit with their trunks. Until then, we need to be the ones who voice opposition to such abusive treatment of animals. (Photo by Eve Edelheit/Tampa Bay Times/Xuma Press)
