Anger is a legitimate emotion in the face of injustice. Passive acceptance of evil is not a virtue.

The road forward for suffering humanity
Look at these Egyptian protestors in hard hats & helmets using metal barricades to shield against the water cannons & tear gas of military troops! It has been a long time since the world has seen such intransigent & fearless opposition to tyranny. The extreme violence the Egyptian revolution faces is because the oligarchs learn from history & understand from the past that when people rise up en masse to defy oppression, it inspires suffering humanity to rebellion around the world. The oligarchs know the world is watching & are deploying not just troops but all manner of treachery & conniving to thwart democracy in Egypt. Though revolutions cannot be won without courage, they cannot be won by courage alone. A plan is needed to unite the disparate political forces the Egyptian military, US, & other reactionary regimes are trying to play off against each other & to expose & isolate those forces making devil’s pacts with the military to gain advantage. The upcoming elections are the flashpoint of current protests because many activists understand they are a snow job by the military to demobilize protest & are by no means a return to civilian & democratic rule. The Egyptian revolution is a beacon to all who want to build a world suitable for human beings to live & love in. Their struggle is our struggle, their victory ours too. (Photo by Hamada Elrasam/AP)
