Anger is a legitimate emotion in the face of injustice. Passive acceptance of evil is not a virtue.

No to US military presence
GABRIELA is a Filipino women’s coalition of 250 groups that actively advocates women’s issues including human rights, militarism, poverty, globalization, health, sex trafficking, violence. The group, formed in 1984, is named in honor of Gabriela Silang, who led a revolt against Spain in the second half of the 18th century. Here they tangle with cops trying to block them from barging the gates of the US Embassy in Manila. They were protesting the presence of 4,500 US troops in recently concluded joint military exercises with Filipino troops. This was the 28th iteration of these bilateral exercises which take place all over the Philippines but the first time participants from other countries took part. You make our hearts sing, GABRIELA!
