NAZARETH, (PIC)-- Ultra-orthodox Jews have launched an onslaught of racial campaigns targeting Arabs in the workplace. Thousands of leaflets and posters are circulating in ultra-orthodox neighborhoods dissuading Jewish employment of Arabs and calling for boycotts on Israeli commercial centers that oppose the movement, Israeli Army Radio said. "We must refrain from bringing the enemies of Israel to our neighborhoods," one pamphlet reads. Clerics who have a large impact on the ultra-orthodox Jewish community are some of the campaign's supporters. Parties leading the campaign will begin in the next few days naming shops to be boycotted, radio reported. The Jewish Lihava organization which opposes Jewish mixing with other religions has issued what it is calling the "Kosher certificate" for all businesses that do not employ Arabs. |
