HAIFA, (PIC)-- Israel has sights set on confiscating part of a mosque in Haifa and using the land for the interest of Jewish settlers. The Israeli municipality in the 1948-occupied Palestinian city of Haifa approved a plan confiscating two dunums of the Istiqlal Mosque without notifying the mosque's administration. The mosque's board has met with political forces to discuss how to address the decision. They considered the step part of a plot to seize control of the remaining Islamic endowments in the occupied city of Haifa.
