The bottom one is dazzling. One can feel the scene as if one is there in person..To do this with watercolours and succeeed in conveying this sense of reality and familiarity is mind boggling. Definitely the new favorite watercolourist of mine. Easily replacing Bonington.
I´ve seen Lars Lerins watercolours in real life at The Swedish Watercolour Museum i Sweden. www.akvarellmuseet.se Lerins paintings are just amazing, and big ones too! ca 100X150 cm, tecnically masterpieces with an almost scaring magic.
These are great...especially the bottom one!

ReplyDeleteWatercolour is a difficult to master medium. I've rarely seen such a mastery before.
