The rogue cop switched his AK47 to automatic and poured bullets into the men as they sat down to eat in a fortified compound in lawless Helmand province after a patrol.

Preparing for tea?! I always thought it's not a good idea to drink hot water...
(Ok, ok, it's a tasteless joke and tea here is dinner not boiled water but that was too tempting, no?)
btw, I forgot to tell you. I'm now officially vegetarian. An article about the real cost on the environment of "growing" meat convinced me of the necessary crossing of the Rubicon..Not fundmentalist or hysterical about it..Just a matter of choice and being in sync with my convictions..
"Tea here is dinner, not boiled water"? Huh?
ReplyDeleteMolly..The British and the Australians call dinner 'tea"..
ReplyDeleteA personal experience..We were new here when once we were invited to "tea" by our newly formed friends in Sydney. I enquired about the time we should show up thinking maybe around 5 as usual for a tea..The answer was 7.30(!). We went home and kept wondering why so late for drinking tea and especially when it's dinner time..Couldn't figure it out until I had a "brain wave" and started suspecting that maybe tea meant dinner for whatever strange reason. I called the people and asked what they meant and they laughed and confirmed.. The British who coined the term are very strange people Molly..Just look at Jemmy! Hopeless.(Just joking Jemmy, relax!)
BTW, Jemmy. I left you a message.
In related news, an Army psychiatrist killed 12 people and wounded 31 at Fort Hood in Texas...
ReplyDeleteHow typical. The Brits don't care about the other Afghan Police killed by this person. Brits only care about yours truly, or other Brits. Disappointing.
ReplyDeleteYes, another sick creep.
ReplyDeleteI am sure all the supporters of the resistance are rejoicing this day! Is this what the PP meant about increasing the resistance?

A stupid comment, anan. Here's a Brit who cared. He spent his days defusing IEDs that could have killed countless Afghan lives as well as British soldiers.

Got it, TG. Will reply.
ReplyDelete"Brits only care about yours truly"
ReplyDeleteNot quite true, shit-for-brains. British politicians care about the United States and its kleptocracy, which is why British squaddies are dying in that shithole nobody else cares a fiddler's fart about.
You are a racist pervert, a bahinchot, and a low and mangy cur. Thank your Tibetan demons that you live on (i.e., pollute) different continent.
VZA, the ANA takes greater casualties than the more than 50 countries that have contributed military forces to Afghanistan combined. The ANP takes three times the casualties of the ANP.
ReplyDeleteHow much does the British media mention these Afghan casualties or stories of Afghan bravery and greatness? I frequently read the British press, and they mention ANSF casualties even less than the US press does. I have heard good things from NATO combat advisors about the 3rd Brigade, 205th ANA Corps and their capable commander BG Ghori in Helmand. How often does the British press even mention them. {British soldiers on the ground mention, thank and praise them a lot; but not Brits in Britain.}
If you read the British press, it is as if Britain is all alone in Helmand and Southern Afghanistan. The conveniently forget the Estonians, Danish, Dutch, Australians, French, Marines, Romanians, Bulgarians, Belgians, Canadians and all the other countries fighting under "British command" in Southern Afghanistan.
There is something about the British press and British public attitude that is a little unnerving VZA. Dare I say residual old myopically self absorbed imperial hubris?
VZA, I haven't read about the British soldiers. I heard they were embedded advisors for the ANP. Many of these folks eat with the Afghan Police, sleep with them, and do everything with them. Many of them develop very close bonds with Afghan police, and are serving the Afghan Police and Afghan people greatly. A group of 10 POMLTs members (or police advisors) might mentor 100 Afghan police.
VZA, I can't speak about Afghanistan, not knowing enough about the Angry One's views regarding it. But on Iraq, he supported violent attacks against the Iraqi Army and Iraqi Police loyal to the elected Iraqi government. Don't know if he supported attacks against civilians working for the Iraqi Government or Iraqi political parties he disagreed with.
ReplyDeleteGot it.
