"Why must we treat Palestinians as humans?"

Racism, mainstream Israeli-style:

“When Israel sends a sophisticated satellite into space, the Arabs come up with a new kind of hummus,” Dr. Dan Schueftan told students during his course on Israel’s security perspective in the diplomacy and security program for senior managers at Tel Aviv University.

  1. Takng this guy at his word, without checking his facts, all I can say is hummus has fed billions of people for a thousand years without much of a downside. As far as sattelites are concerned, sure they make it possible for people to chatter on cell phones where ever they are, but they have raised military agression to a whole new level, and have made anybody anywhere a target for death-not to mention, they have endangered the whole planet...personally, I think hummus is a much better invention.

I know what he was saying, and I think he is full of shit. But I still think hummus is a better invention than satellites.

Who steals a country can steal a dish..

  11. There's no point in describing to the uninitiated the taste of Shanklish. It's unlike anything else you've ever eaten in your life. It's simply much tastier yet defies description. From a geohistorical perspective, Shanklish is purely a Syrian invention.

  12. Yes and it's "rotten" cheese"..and Syrian alright..

    ReplyDelete
  13. The closest to shanklish would be the French Roquefort. My favorite cheese ever. Shanklish is much strongerr in flavor. Only a tiny bit can be taken comfortably at a time. It's a typical "peasant" food. Yum.

  14. I'm told by the " the Shankleesh maker " she's older than Lebanon itself, she says it was from North of the now Lebanon "Akkar" as well as nearby "Tartous" in Syria  , but claims it's kurdish in origin.

  15. Yes it's a product of the region whatever its name is now or then.. The only one dish is typically Lebanese is maybe tabbuleh.

You see, my comments were being constantly blocked.  One minute I was clear, the next my posts were deleted or would not stay up.  It was very aggravating.  I also had the sense that tgia was trying to cajole me into changing my behavior or position.  He was treating me like a child - punishing me when he did not like what I said by banning me.   Well, I am not a child, and wont be bullied by some on-line thug.  Thus, I wrote my posts fully confident he would see them.  I also knew he would repost them for others to see, and claim "see, I told you so, blah blah blah".

My attitude was, whatever dude, you want to ban me for having a different opinion?  Why dont I at least give you a REAL reason for banning? LOL   In other words, my goal was to be highly offensive to him and his "ilk".

BTW, did you know Joe thinks a strong legal case can be made for "outlawing" meat??  HAHAHAHHAHH

It's not that tgia wanted you to change the way you post, he doesn't want  you to post at all here. I'm happy to clear that up for you.

And as usual, you totally missed the point of my comment about meat. If slaughtering animals is cruel, it is hypocritical to pick out one small group to make special laws for. If meat should be outlawed, it should apply to everybody.

  23. Look, its Joe-hummus-is-better-than-satellites, with more awe inspiring comments...LOL

Oh dear.  You mean tgia doesnt like me, Joe?  Gosh, thanks so much for that brutal honesty.  Yet another subject for my shrink and me to discuss...HAHA

"If meat should be outlawed"?  What a fascinating hypoethetical Joe.   A nice follow up to your other idea, the elimination of all human suffering.  Good luck with both, really!

    ReplyDelete
  24. When I read your comments, I really don't know how you have the ability to feed or dress yourself. My comment about outlawing meat was in a thread about outlawing kosher meat, and it had more to do with hypocricy than taking a side on the issue....and yeah, I think developing a food source is a better invention than coming up with a high tech way of killing people.

One more thing: A shrink won't help you, and neither will people who try to reason with you here and elsewhere. You are going to be an arrogant jerk until you live a little longer and learn some painful lessons about why your opinions are such utter bullshit.

But Ill refrain from making similar remarks about sweet little Joey.  His own comments reveal more than enough.  LOL

Satellites do a bit more than kill people, or dont you know Joey?  Ever owned a GPS device?  Very cool.  Perhaps they are beyond the budget of a part time barista?  How about their ability to monitor weather systems, such as tropical storms and hurricanes?  Or make it possible for people in remote areas to communicate? Really Joe, you should think a little more before you make dumb statements about how mashed up chickpeas are "better" than some of the most amazing technology the world has ever seen.  PS: I have some garlic flavored hummus in my fridge right now.  And a GPS in the car...

I dont really see a shrink Joey.  If I did you can bet tgia or yourself would never enter the conversation.  HAHHA

My opinions are shared by many, many people.  I mean believe what you want but most of the views expressed on AACS are seriously on the fringe.  That is mainly why I come here, to see what the "misfit toys" and various nuttters are ruminating about.  So very entertaining. :)

  28. It is not my fault there are triple posts of my comments.  When I hit post the system goes into some automatic mode and tries three times. At the end it claims to have "failed" yet when I refresh there my comment is, in triplicate.  The first time I thought it had been rejected for being too long.

I see that you are so sure that Israel is not going to use its satellites for military purposes. I do not share your confidence.

And I have known many conservatives over the years, and they generally do not share your enthusiasm for the system. Their attitude is more like, "The system is rotton and unfair, but it's the system we live under so you better learn to make the most of it."

Also, I am generally against banning commenters here-even you. One of the very few exceptions I would make is spamming. So if you continue posting the same things multiple times, I will have to agree with tgia about banning you.

  32. Who said satellites COULD NOT be used for military purposes? I merely pointed out they have many, many uses above and beyond any military applications.  Israel may also use radios and airplanes for military purposes.  And perhaps they will use their artillery to dump huge vats of hummus on opposing forces?  What would you do then? HAHAHA

I don't believe that, but I will say I miss your posts when you wrote convincingly of financial and other matters without the personal attacks, but that is merely my opinion. BTW, I happen to work very closely with a person of arabic heritage, and like and respect them very much.  Of course, he/she is an avid capitalist, pro-american and pro-conservative so why would I have any problem?  That is not to say he/she is pro-Israel, because I get the sense they are not, but it is not something we bother discussing as it really has nothing to do with our business or personal lives.
