I watched the first episode on YouTube; even without speaking a word of Turkish I was able to follow most of the plot. I must give the filmmakers enormous props for their courage in making this, and I am betting it is very close to reality. Hence Israel's outraged reaction.
It's also really well done as a show, meaning the acting is good, it's well-plotted, nicely photographed, very real-looking settings, and so on. Will probably be a big hit.
I wish there were some way to bring a dubbed version to the U.S. 8-)
I have watched a number of these shows TGIA, and they do have marked reality to them (outside of some of the domestic drama).
