The Qibya Battle occurred in October 1953 when Israeli troops under Ariel Sharon attacked a Jordanian West Bank village. Sixty-nine Palestinians were killed, many while hiding in houses blown up over their heads. Forty-five houses, a school, and a mosque were
destroyed.
A 'man' (sic, to avoid obscene language) who has made two successful careers, military and political, out of atrocities. Not bad, eh?
ReplyDeleteOnan probably thinks he's a hero.
No I didn't know. I use to like Ariel Sharon back in the day. He use to be charming, and seemed overtly very pro Japanese, pro Indian, pro Russian, pro Asian, pro technology, pro free market.
ReplyDeleteHe really charmed India and his visits there. He made one visit on 9/11 . . . 2003. He seemed so heartfelt and genuine when he expressed sorrow about Indians killed by Takfiri extremists. He also described India in glowing terms, calling India one of the most important countries in the world. {Come on, what country on earth doesn't like it when foreigners call them the greatest, most powerful, most exceptional and most admired country on earth.}
Ariel Sharon might have been the most loyal and valuable friend anyone could have, as long as they weren't Palestinian. He would always be there to help in an emergency.
However, none of this would be an excuse for the Qibya Battle. Sharon will have a lot to answer for when he meets the fate that all sentient beings must meet . . . when he touches the face of God. Too bad. If only he had treated the Palestinians better, he could have been one those heroes we sing about.

ReplyDeleteAriel Sharon is known to be one the biggest criminals in modern history, he's probably got more blood on his hands than all wold's criminals united , he started his criminal career with the Haganah at the age of 14 in 1942, and has never stopped till his brain gave way in 2005.
his Blood soaked career span for over 30 years
In 1956 during the joint British,Israeli, and French invasion of the Suez Canal,Sharon carried out another horrific crime the murder of Egyptian prisoners of war as well as civilian Sudanese workers who had been captured 273 unarmed prisoners were executed and dumped into mass graves. When the story broke, nearly 40 years later, in the Aug. 16, 1995 London Daily Telegraph, it nearly ruptured Israeli-Egyptian relations. Even at the end of his career, Sharon was still running death squads. On Sept. 25, 1997, Israeli Television Channel One interviewed Benny Golan, a veteran of the Rimon Unit, which Sharon had created and deployed in the early 1970s in the Gaza Strip to carry out targeted assassinations of Palestinian “militants.”
Other sources reported, at the time, that the “special operations” included terrorist attacks on Israeli Jewish targets to justify “retaliatory strikes” against pre-selected Palestinian and Arab targets.Other sources reported, at the time, that the “special operations” included terrorist attacks on Israeli Jewish targets to justify “retaliatory strikes” against pre-selected Palestinian and Arab targets.Sharon still faces war crimes prosecution in court in Belguim for his role in the Sabra and Shatila massacres

There are many more massacres in his portfolio
For Indians to be fooled by such blood hungry monster , there are a lot of questions marks about their moralities ,especially yours
Anan used to admire Ariel Sharon!! Is this a surprise?
ReplyDeleteBTW, a serious question...Was Hitler free market?
Hitler was not free market. Some Indians liked him because Hitler supported the Indian freedom movement, especially Chandra Bose. However, Gandhi, Nehru, Congress, and most of the political class opposed Hitler.
ReplyDeleteOn Sabra and Shatila, I still have questions. Not sure Sharon can be blamed for Lebanese militia killing fellow Lebanese.
However, please over the next couple of months assemble more info regarding:

Would like to present data implying that Sharon killed Jews to Michael Totten's blog for a response.
TGIA, you look at the world through the eyes of Palestine. Most don't. This is why they understand the world differently. If Sharon showed up to your country, said he was your friend, and consistently helped in sun and rain; it would influence how he is percieved.
Remember Kargil? The Pakistani Taliban fought a battle in 1999 with one division equivalent of Indian elite forces plus a few conventional army divisions. They killed over 500 of India's finest in a fierce battle and shot down several Mig29s, then the most expensive and highest quality fighter in the Indian Air Force. During that time, much of the world implicitly didn't think that the Taliban and Al Qaeda linked networks were bad. Similar to Yasmin saying recently that she didn't feel threatened much by the Taliban. The world was for the most part no where to be seen.
However one country stepped up and launched an airlift to support India against the Pakistani Taliban (many of them were Punjabi Taliban.) That country was Israel. Many pro Palestinian Indians are still greatful to Israel for that. What do you expect them to feel? That doesn't mean that Israel is right to mistreat Palestinians, but then few non Palestinians know much about Palestine.

The frustration is that $anan would spit such garbage without knowing who Ariel Sharon is.
By the way, does Israel really want to harm anyone who isn't Palestinian? My understanding is that israel wants to be friends with everyone who isn't Palestinian. Israel doesn't have any ambitions to sieze land outside of the West Bank and Israel proper (the ILA has siezed Palestinian private property inside Israel proper through its eminent domain type laws based on Ottoman Turk legal statutes.)
ReplyDeleteMost people in the world don't regard Israel as a threat, unlike the Takfiri extremists for example.
Remember that the Taliban and their AQ linked allies have killed more Pakistani Army and Pakistani Police in recent years than the total number of international forces that have died in Iraq and Afghanistan since 2001. They have torn apart some of the best units in the Pakistani Army. If they can do that, what country isn't threatened by them?
I did know who Sharon was. I read about him when I was still in junior high school. I admired him as a great general at the time. I didn't know as much about Palestine at the time, although I had read Ottoman era history books.
ReplyDeleteMany people hoped that their country would have tough capable leaders like Sharon that could make their countries successful. That has nothing to do with Sharon's crimes against Palestinians. Maybe it is similar to the way that many still idolize Alexander the Great?
On Sabra and Shatila, I still have questions. Not sure Sharon can be blamed for Lebanese militia killing fellow Lebanese.
ReplyDelete-------------
If you're not sure don't talk about it. It makes you look very ill informed. Not good for your reputation.
Sabre and Shatila was a 1982 massacre of Lebanese and Palestinians. Need to research more about it.
ReplyDeleteThose killed were not "fellow Lebanese", they were Palestinian refugees. he provided light projectors for the phalange murderers but he blocked all routes of escape as well..He was the mastermind of the whole operation. But he was a great man for sure. He was free market!

ReplyDeleteWhat about the 20000 Lebanese dead in 1982 , when Beirut and other surrounding areas were flattened , sure he was a tuff hero .
Honestly you comments are full of it . One doesn't know were to start ,e.g. "Not sure who's responsible for Sabra and Shatila" "Lebanese militias"?, have you an idea who these militias are , and worked for and under who's orders , any idea where these militia went to live after Hizboullah kicked the Israelis out from Lebanon , do you know who paid their salaries or where their weapons came from ? who provided their homes inside Israel ? Majority of them are still living there and they often whine about being discriminated against .
When Sabra and Shatila were attacked , Beirut was under occupation by Israel , IOF were a mere 100 M. away . An absolute minimum argument would be who's responsible for the protection of civilians under their control ?
Legally and morally.
Don't agree that he was a great man because of his mistreatment of Palestinians.
ReplyDeleteVAA, I don't know any Lebanese who understand the Lebanese civil war and internal politics. I think the man who started the Lebanese civil war was Arafat. Letting him into Lebonon in 1971 turned out to be disastrous long term.
ReplyDeleteIn the civil war, the Shia (then mostly Amal) were at war with Arafat in 1982. Given the number of Lebanese fighting Amal in 1982, Israel decided that this was an opportune time for them to finish off Arafat, the Lebanese Palestinians (who I don't need to remind you, Israelis didn't like), and Assad. Israel initially came in with implicit cooperation with Amal, Lebanese Shia and some other factions.
That initial support from powerful Lebanese militias and factions faded rather quickly once Arafat was booted from Lebonon, and once the Syrian army was defeated. After defeating the PLO and Syrians, the Shia (Amal), Druse, and other Lebanese allies didn't need Israel anymore and many even started shooting at them.
