This fellow, Bradley Burston( Sounds very Middle Eastern doesn't it? Well yes, he's Israeli!) is a rabid Zionist who writes for Haaretz...In what could only be explained as an exercise in political fiction writing, he offers this view: The UN wants to rid the world of
Israel!
This man is trying to stir up the paranoia of those Jews who have unfortunatelyu been brainwashed by the Zioinist manufactered Holocaust industry.
ReplyDeleteIf the UN truly repesented the people, and not the rich and powerful, it would claim the Zionist state as being illegimate...
OK, I know Westerners like attractive protestors. So sue me, but I've come to the conclusion that Iranian women are beat only by Brazilians in their attractiveness. http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2009/6/19/744656/-Tehran-Street-PhotosOn-the-Brink
ReplyDeleteIn penance for my last vacuous comment, I found this very saddening: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/southamerica/peru/5472590/Perus-Amazon-tribes-mount-deadly-fight-against-mining-in-the-jungle.html
ReplyDeleteI find it a massive effrontery that the President of the United States and this Zionist media circus here should let him get up with the winning "calm demeanor" (you know the one I mean) - and say "the world is watching." He, nor anyone from US soil has any damn right to say that anyone from here is "watching" what Iran does, no moral authority, while millions all over the world have died through this nations policy. Fuck Obama, a fuck you pretense to appearances, and everyone should have their eyes glued on this nations fetid ass!
ReplyDeleteWhat Obama says or does not say is immaterial in all of this! The Iranian people who were peacefully protesting are getting beaten, killed, and detained and this is what upsets you?
ReplyDeleteUnbelieveable.
Yeah right hegemony hag...lol
ReplyDeleteThere is deep anti Jewish bigotry around the world and in the UN.
ReplyDeleteHowever, one can be pro Palestinian while also loving Jews. That is what the UN should be. Currently the UN is anti Jewish and anti Palestinian.
The UN needs to support the Palestinian cause.

ReplyDeleteAlliteration from our armchair anarchist...lol.
ReplyDeleteWhich is exactly why these particular photos of these particualr people have been taken....
ReplyDeletePeople have been getting beaten all over the world for standing up against their respective governments vza, why are you so concerned about the Iranian people?
ReplyDeleteIn fact they have been beaten up in the Palestinian West Bank by the Israeli occupation forces and illetgal settlers left and right for decades now, yet where are your protests?
ReplyDeleteExcuse me, but how could you possibly know what I have not been upset about or have not protested?
ReplyDeleteOr perhaps you were trying to say I shouldn't be upset for the Iranian people because their protests are not legitimate? Or perhaps you are a supporter of a regime that hangs its people from cranes and telephone poles and stones women to death?
ReplyDeleteI am presuming a hell of a lot here aren't I, Marion? I have never heard of you protesting any of those things so therefore I must conclude you have no problem with them.
"you are a supporter of a regime that hangs its people from cranes"
ReplyDeleteSo is your so called reformist candidate.
Marion, there are two to three million Iranian Americans. More than a million live in LA. Beverly Hills is one fifth Iranian American. Iranians are one of the richest and most influential minorities inside the US. Many Americans have Iranian friends. This is why so many Americans feel empathy for Iranians.
ReplyDeleteMarion, people feeling empathy for the Iranian people is a very good thing and should be encouraged.
It is also important for peole around the world to empathize with the Palestinian people and try to help them.
Excuse me, but where, precisely, did I express support for the "reform" candidate? If you read the comment again, you will note that it is ever so slightly sarcastic. Marion made an assumption about my views based on little to no evidence. She could not possibly know what I have or have not protested against based on this little blog. I simply replied in kind to illustrate how it could be turned around on her.
ReplyDeleteI believe I posted a comment this week clearly questioning Musavi's reform credentials. We should all be able to agree, however, that the protesters in Iran should be able to freely express their feelings without a fascist armed milita beating, killing, or imprisoning them.

It has never been the job of these filthy agents to "make" anything happen vza, they just fan the flame. Plus, no one has said anything about what those in power in Iran has or has not done - just that the problems that some face in that regime are being magnified, that is all that is "necessary" to have a desired result.

Why do you choose to call the Iranian security forces a fascist armed militia vza? Can you tell me for a fact that all of the protestors been peaceful? Can you tell me for a fact that all of the Iranian security forces have been beating, killing, and imprisoning protestors?
ReplyDeleteLook I support peaceful protests, but in this case I am very suspicious of these protests when I consider what has been taking place leading up to these protests, how they unfolded, and I am suspicious as to who ALL are behind organizing them...
I do not believe that they happened spontaneously, although there may have been people who took part in them spontaneoulsy...I think they were organized well in advance...
I am always reminded that the hispanic (or spanish descent - white) population of the southern continent is still to this day very racist against the indigenous population. I have a lot of south americans in the classes I teach and I was shocked when one of my pupils (a white peruvian) referred to certain people of color as "mokeys". That wasn't probably as shocking as the indifference demonstrated by the rest of the class to what the student had said. This is why I always tend to give indigenous leaders (like Evo Morales) the benefit of the doubt (rightly or wrongly). After all, these were the people who this land belonged to and they were defeated and humiliated.
ReplyDeleteYes, that is terrible vza - what put them there in the first place?

No Marion, it does not prove anything. It merely supports your opinion. Which is fine with me, btw. That is why we are all here...to express our opinions. So I think the Basjiis are fascist militias and you don't. Based on their history and from what I have read, that is the conclusion I have come to.
"Can you tell me for a fact that all of the protestors been peaceful? Can you tell me for a fact that all of the Iranian security forces have been beating, killing, and imprisoning protestors?"
Well, really, how on earth is one supposed to answer questions like that? Who said ALL about anything happening in Iran, Marion? That would be impossible. Most observers from a wide range of sources have indicated that most of the protestors have been peaceful. Is it possible that some have used violence? You bet. Is it possible that some of the security forces have reacted to violence? Yes. But it has also been reported...from Iranians...that innocent people have been attacked, beaten, killed, and imprisoned.
Btw, Marion, you can get rid of your comments with all the fluff this way: Click on your name in any comment you have made. This will take you to your profile box and it shows all of your comments. Delete the one you posted at 10:00 A..M., for example.
ReplyDeleteCrocodile tears, hmm? And you are the judge of who is or is not sincere?
ReplyDeleteAnd so have the Iranian security forces been attacked and beaten vza, which is to be expected on both sides when you have people working for the MKO(supported by the West) out on the streets with the goal of creating chaos between the people and the security forces...
ReplyDeleteIran finds US-backed MKO fingermarks in riot

I know that you probably think because it is a report from an Iranian News station it is not reliable, but than why can't we think the same way about U.S. or Western News stations that propagate on behalf of their respective governments interests?
I did what you told me but I could not figure out how to delete it.
ReplyDeleteJust like you.
ReplyDeleteWho said you can't or shouldn't, Marion? Even the U.S. government says their intelligence on what is happening in Iran is spotty. I frankly do not know whom to believe about any of it.
ReplyDeleteBut there is one thing I do know about the current regime that trumps everything. They hang people, criminals, gays, and women from cranes and telephone poles in front of crowds of people. This has been documented again and again and if you deny this then we have nothing more to discuss. There is NOTHING you could tell me about a regime that does that sort of thing that could possibly bring me to view it with any sympathy. EVER. Now, I will readily admit the hypocrisy of the Western governments about this but that in no way confers righteousness on the regime because we are hypocrites!
Rhetorical question to enliven the thread: Building on an unrelated news item Molly introduced further up, can someone explain to me why there isn't a similar or greater outrage in the western press for what is happening in the Peruvian Amazon? Twice the number of people (in this case, indigenous people) have been killed in Peru fighting for their lands than have reportedly been killed on the streets of Iranian cities. Any mention in the western press? Hardly.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm sorry, allow me to answer my own question. Stupid me! I should have realized that some blood is more precious than others. These are after all Peruvian indigenous peoples that should have died and faded away after Europeans took their lands in search of our joint "manifest destiny." Why can't they sit quietly and defeated on their reservations and dedicate their wretched lives to gambling? And if that isn't enough reason to ignore them, then I'm sure that if we dig deeper, we will find that buffoon Chavez funding them with his oil money from Venezuela. After all, Chavez would like nothing more than to discredit an elected leader sympathetic to the west that wants to raise the standard of living of his countrymen by encouraging such noble western investments in virgin Amazon soils.
Pretty good imitation, eh vza?
Just like you? What am I supposed to say now, No, just like YOU? Good grief.
ReplyDeleteThat was supposed to be an imitation of vza?
ReplyDeleteSo, V, what do you say now? They have admitted to killing protestors (they call them terrorists). Saying the US engineered all this is not giving the people of Iran (who have risen up in the past against repressive regimes ) any credit.
ReplyDelete"Any mention in the western press? Hardly."
ReplyDeleteThe story has been in all of my papers and on the cable networks. There are American groups speaking up for them, too. A balanced compromise, taking in the needs and common good of the nation and the rights of the people should be sought.
Btw, we are all, including you and all of your relatives, residing on what was once virgin soil. We are all living with comforts and medicines provided by the exploitation of natural resources from lands once or currently inhabited by indigenous people. When you renounce all that, do let us know.
Okay, click on your name that is highlighted in blue where it says, Marion replies Today 1:15:28 PM.

TGIA could you please un-ban fleming, he is dying to tell us how things should remain the same, and how the invisible hand is at work...LOL
ReplyDeleteSeriously, does he need to be banned? :)
A very simplistic reply even by your standards. All living beings, the indigenous peoples included, must "exploit those resources" in order to live. It is how you do it and who benefits that ultimately matters.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the help vza...
ReplyDeleteNow we can resume are battle of opinions...
V, I have asked him twice if fleming is banned and no response. tgia did say he was very busy...
ReplyDeleteI know, I know, even by my standards.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, Marion.
ReplyDeleteYes marion "they are just like us" - itus. It is similar to how the rich in Venezuela were portrayed before and during the coup.

ReplyDeletePull the fucking provocateurs and their money and instruction out and I will answer the question
ReplyDeleteWhy don't you roll up in a ball Charlie Brown ("good grief") and complain about how others are against you.
ReplyDeleteNahhhhh.
ReplyDeleteOh, now they are interviewing ignorant "protestors" on American streets, that is a good source of information...They might as well have interviewed Molly or vza :)
ReplyDeleteWell, I think Obama's plans are becoming glaringly clear, this is probably the "crisis" that big mouth Biden spoke about. Oh, you will have to send in the reserves now. Also, you have learned nothing about the past - there is no difference in administrations. One finishes off what the last one began.
This is interesting, now they are doing a double - suddenly we are getting more info. about the "demon Mugabe." When are the idiots going to wake up?
ReplyDeleteToo late, you have repeatedly done it already :)
ReplyDeleteThis sort of reminds me of the "polling process" here in the states -
ReplyDeleteHOW THE RULING ELITE USE POLLS
Always before a major poll is launched by the corporate media, there is a major campaign of concentrated propaganda repeatedly voiced through the major (major in the sense of the monopoly) media sources - national, such as NBC CBS CNN FOX, etc. Why? Because they wish to set a precedent of opinion, that is they try to garner authority through the majority, which has been influenced by the said propaganda blitz. This is layered, and can go on for a long period of time, to make sure that the right message is embedded in the psyche of the population.
