"Bush explained to French Pres. Chirac that the Biblical creatures Gog and Magog were at work in the Mid-East and must be defeated.
The revelation this month in GQ Magazine that Donald Rumsfeld as Defense Secretary embellished top-secret wartime memos with quotations from the Bible prompts a question. Why did he believe he could influence President Bush by that means?"

ReplyDeleteDon't you guys miss good old Bush?

ReplyDeleteTGIA this isn't surprising. Bush had people read him excerpts from the Bible daily. People around Bush tried to manipulate Bush for their own agendas. Unfortunately the former president wasn't smart enough to see through what the people around him were doing.
ReplyDeleteI really feel sad for President Bush. He could have been a better president if he had only had better company. His mistake in choosing VP Cheney and some staff in late 2000, early 2001 doomed him.
This guy talks about this article at antiwar.com
ReplyDeleteClive Hamilton, author of the article “Bush, God, Iraq and Gog” at Counterpunch.org, discusses G.W. Bush’s seemingly sincere desire to fight Iraqi and al-Qaeda incarnations of the biblical bogeymen Gog and Magog, and the possibility that the U.S. does indeed fight religious wars.

Anand, I know you feel sorry for poor president Bush. That is just so touching. :-P
You don't like admitting that there are plenty of industrial Christian crusaders in your beloved military(Boykin and plenty of others), and their version of paradise or salvation does not include Hindus. Hope you are crystal clear on that.
So ends another dumb story in an endless train of equally dumb ones from this past administration. God bless America...LOL
